New York, NY (March 31, 2011) — The International Copper Association (ICA) today announced that it will sponsor two webinars on the use of MicroGroove technology in the development of evaporator and condenser coils for air conditioning and refrigeration applications.
The webinars will take place on Tuesday June 14 and Wednesday June 22. More information about the webinars, including exact times, can be found at www.microgroove.net/webinars. Registrants can submit questions in advance from the registration page and also can view an on-demand an earlier webinar on the MicroGroove Advantage.
As OEMs seek to increase the energy efficiency of their air conditioning & refrigeration (AC&R) products, higher levels of performance are being demanded from heat-exchanger coils. One path to higher performance coils and energy-efficient AC&R products is the use of smaller-diameter copper tubes with inner grooves.
“The ICA has sponsored research on the physical properties, design and manufacture of coils made from smaller diameter, inner-grooved copper tubes,” says Nigel Cotton. Much of this research was performed in China and the results are not broadly known in the U.S. and Europe. These webinars are being sponsored by the ICA to bring U.S. and European designers up to speed quickly.”
The June 14 webinar titled “The MicroGroove Advantage: Achieving Higher Energy-Efficiency with Smaller-Diameter Copper Tubes” is scheduled for 14:00 Central European Summer Time (CEST = GMT+2). It will update the information presented in the MicroGroove webinar of December 15. It will answer many of the questions raised in that first webinar, which is now also available on-demand via the microgroove.net website.
The June 22 webinar titled “OEM Product Design with MicroGroove Tubes” is scheduled for 1:00 pm Eastern Daylight Saving Time (EDT = GMT?4). It will present new content relating to the design and manufacture or heat exchanger coils.
